Kitchen Renovation Questions
Everything Tampa homeowners ask us
Do you provide kitchen cabinets in Tampa?
Yes — cabinetry is provided as part of a complete kitchen renovation, including layout coordination, styles, door profiles, colors and finishes, hardware, storage features, pantry cabinetry, island cabinetry, and appliance integration.
What is the difference between stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets?
Stock is the most limited and budget-oriented; semi-custom adds flexibility in dimensions, finishes, and storage; custom offers maximum flexibility for unusual dimensions, specialty finishes, architectural features, and unique storage. The right option depends on budget, layout, design expectations, lead time, and desired quality.
How much do kitchen cabinets cost in Tampa?
Cabinet cost varies by kitchen size, cabinet count and construction, door style, finish, drawers, hardware, storage accessories, decorative panels, tall cabinetry, appliance panels, custom modifications, and installation complexity. A meaningful price requires measurements and a defined layout — which is exactly what the design phase produces.
Should I reface my cabinets or replace them?
Refacing can make sense when cabinet boxes are sound and the layout works. Replacement usually makes more sense when the layout is changing, boxes are damaged, storage needs improve, appliances are moving, taller cabinetry or an island is desired, or a major renovation is already underway.
Can you change the layout of my kitchen?
Yes — moving appliances and sinks, enlarging islands, removing or modifying walls, adding pantry storage, opening layouts, reconfiguring cabinets, and improving traffic flow. Moving plumbing, electrical, gas, walls, or structure meaningfully affects cost and complexity, and we’ll show you that math before you decide.
Can you remove a wall to make my kitchen more open?
Possibly — we determine load-bearing status, roof and floor loads, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire and structural implications, and coordinate structural engineering where required.
Do you install kitchen islands?
Yes — with seating, storage, cooking, prep, sinks, dishwashers, outlets, beverage refrigeration, and decorative features. Island size should be driven by room dimensions and circulation, not simply maximized.
Can you install floor-to-ceiling or full-height kitchen cabinets?
Yes — pantry cabinets, appliance walls, refrigerator surrounds, display cabinetry, integrated storage, and ceiling-height uppers, designed around ceiling height, crown detail, access, appliance clearances, and proportion.
How long does it take to order kitchen cabinets?
Lead times vary widely by manufacturer and type — stock can be relatively fast, while semi-custom and custom cabinetry can take considerably longer. Cabinet lead time is one of the biggest drivers of a kitchen schedule, which is why we won’t promise a universal renovation timeline.
Do you help with countertops, backsplash, flooring, and appliances?
Yes — a kitchen is a coordinated system: cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, appliances, electrical, paint, trim, and hardware, planned and built together.
Can I stay in my home during a kitchen renovation?
Frequently, yes, depending on scope. Expect temporary loss of the sink, cooktop, and dishwasher, a relocated refrigerator, and the reality of dust, noise, and deliveries. Some owners prefer temporary accommodations during certain phases — we’ll help you plan either way.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen remodel in Tampa?
Cosmetic work may not require permits, but electrical changes, plumbing, gas, structural work, wall removal, and major mechanical changes typically do. Requirements depend on jurisdiction and scope — and as licensed contractors, we pull and manage every required permit.
How much does a full kitchen remodel cost in Tampa?
It depends on kitchen size, cabinet quality, layout changes, structural work, countertops, appliances, flooring, plumbing, electrical, lighting, finish level, and custom features — a cosmetic update is a fundamentally different project than a full high-end renovation. Our consultation and design process replaces guesswork with a line-item budget for your actual kitchen.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Depending on design, selections, cabinetry lead times, permitting, structural changes, and complexity, a kitchen renovation typically takes four to six months from initial consultation through completion — longer with custom cabinetry or structural work. Well-planned projects move fastest — which is why we don’t demo until design, materials, and schedule are locked.
Do you design and build high-end kitchens?
Yes — that’s our focus: custom layouts, premium cabinetry, large islands, architectural and structural modifications, high-end countertops, integrated appliances, specialty lighting, custom millwork, and whole-home coordination. We’re structured for planned, professionally executed renovations rather than small cabinet-swap projects.
