Building Homes. Building Community.

Nonprofit builds & collaborative projects.

Construction for organizations whose projects involve more voices, more funding sources, and more at stake than a typical build.

Mission-Driven Construction

Complex stakeholder projects are our comfort zone.

When a project answers to a board, a donor base, and a community — the builder has to communicate like a partner, not a vendor.

TomCo works with nonprofit organizations, community groups, institutional partners, donors, developers, and other stakeholders where the construction relationship is more complex than a traditional owner-contractor arrangement. Our experience spans nonprofit facilities, community centers, educational and workforce development facilities, training centers, affordable and attainable housing initiatives, community redevelopment projects, donor-funded construction, public/private collaborations, and mission-driven, multi-organization developments.

What sets these projects apart is coordination: multiple decision-makers, funding sources, design professionals, donors, and community partners — each with requirements that have to be honored in the budget, the schedule, and the documentation. That coordination is exactly what we bring, alongside the same licensed construction and in-house design studio behind every TomCo project. Community isn’t a market segment for us — it’s in our tagline.

Questions Organizations Ask

Working with TomCo

Can you work with boards, donors, and multiple stakeholders?

Yes — we structure communication, documentation, budgeting, and approvals around how your organization actually makes decisions, whether that’s a board vote, a funding milestone, or a multi-partner agreement.

Can you help before our funding is fully secured?

Often, yes. Feasibility input, conceptual budgets, and design coordination can support grant applications, capital campaigns, and donor conversations — detailed preconstruction work is available as a defined, paid scope so expectations stay clear.

Do you handle design as well as construction for community facilities?

Yes — our design studio and construction team can carry a facility from concept and feasibility through permit-ready documents and construction, or collaborate with your existing architect.
